In keeping with this month’s InfoComm expo in Las Vegas, we thought we’d focus on some of the new products you’ll see on the show foor. We’ve included booth numbers for your convenience. If you’re at the show, stop by and see FRONT of HOUSE magazine at booth C5349! Clear-Com CC-300 And CC-400 Headsets Compatible with Clear-Com’s wide range of wired and wireless intercoms, the new CC- 300 single-ear and CC-400 double-ear headsets are designed to reduce fatigue and accommodate individual preferences by offering a clear and comfortable audio experience. Both are equipped with hypercardioid dynamic microphones and high ambient-noise attenuation headphones that reduce external background noise and up to 20- kHz response. The headsets have a standard four-pin female connector, but users can easily change the cable and connector at the headset using a screwdriver to accommodate different connector types. d&b audiotechnik V-Series The V-Series is a mid-sized line array with the same driver arrangement and horizontal dispersion as the company’s popular J-Series. The new V8 and V12 are 3-way passive designs with two 10-inch neodymium LF drivers, one horn-loaded 8-inch MF driver and two 1.4-inch exit HF compression drivers mounted on a dedicated wave shaping device. The mechanical and acoustical design enables flown vertical columns of up to 24 loudspeakers to be suspended using vertical splay angles of 0° to 14° with a 1° resolution. Optional is a dedicated V subwoofer, which incorporates d&b’s patented passive cardioid technology. Furman CN-1800S/CN-2400S Smart Sequencers Engineered for pro A/V and commercial use, Furman’s CN-1800S (15A capacity) and CN-2400S (20A capacity) SmartSequencers™ combine AC power distribution, protection, filtration and sequential system power on/of in single-rackspace units. Large complex systems can be safely powered on/of with a simple button press (or turn of a key) and a primary unit can control and sequence multiple secondary units. RS-232 ports and command sets for PC/control system integration and optional Ethernet adds full IP-addressability, allowing control/programming/monitoring from a smartphone, tablet, PC or any Web-enabled device via Telnet, direct HTTP connection or Panamax/Furman’s BlueBOLThosted remote power/energy management platform. Outputs are Speakon or banana plug with a locking Neutrik Power- CON AC input connector. EAW Powercube Power and Processing Modules Designed for EAW line arrays, each Powercube™ amp rack includes electrical power distribution, 12 amp channels, integrated DSP and 12 input/output channels. Housed in shock-absorbing 24U racks, Powercubes support either three Lab. gruppen PLM20000Q/SP or six Powersoft K10 DSP+AESOP amps, shipped separately by the manufacturers for user installation. Powercubes are optimized for use with EAW KF740 line arrays and the company’s largest subwoofers, but can also power/control KF760s or KF730s. Distro panels include standard, 3-phase inputs and breaker-protected (115V or 230V) outputs. Audio input panels offer analog connections with loop thru, AES digital with parallel loop thru and dual Ethernet ports for loop thru the amps’ digital network. A Littlite gooseneck lamp, courtesy electric outlets and a locking rack drawer (except in 230V models) round out the unit. Galaxy Audio Carbon Boom Microphones Galaxy Audio’s Carbon Boom Microphone (CBM) Series are ideal for choirs, orchestral and theatrical productions. A carbon shaft makes these mics rigid and lightweight, yet portable with easily positioned elements. Two element choices are available. The CBM5 has a 0.5-inch gold-plated element; the CBM3 has three interchangeable elements (omni, cardioid and supercardioid). Both the CBM3 and CBM5 include a 24- inch or 67-inch microphone stand. A dual microphone unit is also ofered. Grundorf Utility Transport Dolly Plates Grundorf’s new utility transport dollies are available in two plate sizes: small (20.75 by 20.75 inches), and large (29.75 by 20.75 inches). The small model is outfitted with a choice of heavy-duty 3-inch or 4-inch casters, while the large dolly employs heavy-duty 4-inch casters. The dollies are constructed of carpet-covered, 13-ply Baltic birch wood with an integral carry handle. They can stand on their side when not in use, or for storage or trucking, and they are equipped with two brakes. Lectrosonics ASPEN Dante Network Processor Lectrosonics has developed the SPNDNT network processor to expand the ASPEN digital matrix processor family. More than a simple network interface, this full-featured DSP processor can address both the ASPEN and Dante matrices and add mixing, gain and delay functions to the digital audio signals. Any of the 48 final mixes in the ASPEN matrix can be assigned to any one or more of the Dante channels for transport to other endpoints in the network. Dante signals can also be imported into the ASPEN matrix in a local processor sub-system for mixing with other local and network signals, and then routed onward to other local or network devices. Nexo STM Line Array Nexo’s Scale Through Modularity (STM) series enables line arrays to scale up/down from 1,000 to 100,000 people. An STM system is configured from four discrete loudspeaker elements: M46 main, B112 bass, S118 subbass and M28 “Omni” modules. The first vertical array system to offer scalable LF, extra bass cabinets can be added without introducing phase anomalies. The STM main, bass and Omni cabinets are injection-molded for durability. The 121-pound main 13.8-by-22.6- by-28.2-inch (HxWxD) cabinet has four 6.5-inch fat membrane LF/ MF drivers and four HF compression drivers and can reach 145 dBs. The B112 has a neodymium high-excursion 3,000W 12-inch woofer in a matching cabinet. The S118 subbass S118 uses a single 18-inch driver, in a 27.6x22.6x28.2-inch enclosure that can be fown or ground stacked. With two 8-inch woofers, four 4-inch mids and a compression driver, the Omni is designed for downfill or can be used separately from the M46 or B112. Other features include fast, accurate PistonRig™ and REDLock™ rigging, the NEXO Universal Amp Rack (NUAR) with control functionality and a choice of network card solutions (EtherSound/Dante/AVB/etc.) and an upcoming iPhone/iPad app for remote system control. Powersoft Ottocanali 1204 DSP+ETH The new Ottocanali 1204 DSP+ETH is an 8-channel power amplifier with DSP functionality on every channel along with Ethernet connectivity managed via Armonia Pro Audio Suite PC software. Rated output is 80 watts/channel into 8 ohms or 150W/ch into 4-ohn loads. DSP functionality includes dual 24-bit conversion stages with EQ, limiting and time alignment operations, plus 24/7 speaker load supervision capabilities. Ethernet connectivity lets users handle system setup, monitoring and control directly from a PC or over a network connection. Optional transformers can adapt any channel to Hi-Z 70/100V operation. Line 6 XD-V55 Digital Wireless Line 6’s new XD-V55 systems, now shipping, combine exclusive modeling of four leading handheld wired mics with compander- free, 24-bit/10 Hz to 20 kHz digital wireless performance.
